Welcome to Hostology's new Reporting tool.
In this Guide we will cover how to use the Reporting tool. Please note, the reporting tool is new and will continue to develop and grow, so we welcome all feedback for reports or data you would like to use for your venue in the future!
Reporting Tool
The Reporting Tool allows you to view and manage data from Hostology.
The Reporting tool offers two options. You can pull data as either a Bar/Donut graph OR you can download the data to use in your own reporting tools.
For all of our data, the main metric being measured is the Amount. So depending on the variable you select, it will be the number of these items. The other fixed metric is date. Where you will be able to measure everything across a time frame of your choosing.
The Variable you can select and filter your report with are the following data sources:
- Events by Account Manager - This is a field when creating the event, usually the person either selling the event or providing the show round.
- Events by Event Manager - This is the person assigned as the event manager for the event.
- Events by Status - The Status of the event can be seen, (especially useful for a sales pipeline to see the Opportunity vs Confirmed events for the next year).
- Events by Source - The source of the event can be seen to help with your marketing and sales teams. Where you can now flag in the event set up what the event source was.
- Events by Category - You can select the Event category and compare as well. I.e. how many weddings vs private parties you have coming up, or over the last year.
(TOP TIP - you can easily search through all old events on the event list page - select a date range in the past - and add in the source retrospectively - to build better data stories quickly).
Once you have selected the data source, you can then choose a chart type between donut and bar chart:
Once you have chosen the above, you can then select the dates you want to measure between. There are some convenient categories (Next 30 days, last 180 days etc) or if you click the Start date or End date, you can select a specific date from the calendar view:
Once all of this information has been selected, your chart will then be generated.

Downloading the Information
If you want to pull the data you have selected as a CSV, PNG or SVG you also have this option. At the Bar chart selection if you go to the 3 lines in the top right. You can select to download one of these options.
This can be especially useful if you want to present the data in a different way or wish to store the data of your events for marketing and sales reasons.
